All Roads to the Rosehill Guineas (G1) for AIN'TNODEELDUN

Team Freedman, the Melbourne based version of the family trainers, produced a 3YO to win on Cup day that looks an ideal Gr 1 Caulfield Cup hope for next year.

His name is AIN’TNODEELDUN (Dundeel-Ain’tnofallenstar) and the big chunky, immature 3YO just outsprinted and ultimately outstayed his rivals to win the Listed $150,000 TAB Trophy over 1800m.

He sat back in 3rd all the way behind a torrid pace and when he moved coming to the turn, he accelerated very quickly, surprising everyone.

His rider Damian Lane, was quite shocked by the move. Co-trainer Sam Freedman, was even more so.

“He was isolated on his own in third all the way and had to cart the field up to the leaders and did so in the back section when we had to face the breeze, but he just knuckled down.”

He was left alone in front with 500m to go once he claimed the leader and to fight off all and sundry down the running, recording his 3rd win from just seven starts, was highly commendable.

“Yeah, well not sure he likes to be ridden like that,” said Freedman. “He likes to sit and chase so to do it like that was impressive.

“He is a big boy, still immature, and is just all frame at the moment but next year he might be pretty smart.”

Lane added, “we at least know he has options as a racehorse and isn’t just a sit back and run on type.”

What really pleased was the time.

Yes the track is fast today but he ran 1.49, just over a second outside the track record and he is lightly raced and carried 58kg.

The toppie CONFRONTATIONAL ran a very bold race, yet again to grab 2nd place. He’s raced nine times, he’s won twice and now placed five times.

The maiden GRINZINGER LORD was very game getting home to grab 3rd. All three look well above average.

The winner has now won $207,000 in prizemoney.
